Clara is a NYC based tattoo and fine artist. She graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY with a BFA in Drawing and Ceramics. She works in a variety of artistic mediums, most predominantly drawings, ceramics and tattoos. Through her focus on self portraiture she hopes to bring new light to the female form (a subject that has long been cast through the lens of the male gaze) as well as explore her own struggles with mental illness. Some of her latest works are retellings of female monster myths, forcing viewers to question the classic hero villain-dynamic that has long vilified female power and glorified male violence.
Clara began tattooing in the fall of 2019 at Painted Soul Arts and enjoys tattooing illustrative realism, fineline, and sketch style designs. Some of her favorite subjects are animals and mythical creatures, but she enjoys inking all sorts of natural designs.
Her ceramic work consists mostly of wheel thrown functional-ware, though she also dabbles in hand building and sculptural work. She has also been experimenting with making her own clay from scratch, and designing red and brown stoneware recipes for her agateware pieces.

Some Things To Know:
While my commissions are always open for small drawings, requests for pieces with larger dimensions or in other mediums are accepted on a case by case basis depending on my schedule
Turnaround time for pet portrait commissions is generally 2-4 weeks but can vary depending on overall workload and the complexity of the request
The animal remains (leather, skins, and bones) that I use in my works are all ethically sourced to the best of my knowledge, but specific sourcing information cannot be guaranteed
All the pieces on this site are my own original work (some tattoos may come from reference material provided to me by my clients) please do not copy these images without permission
While most items are available to be shipped (domestically and internationally), select works are available only by pickup because of issues with weight and delicacy
Functional wheel-thrown ceramic pieces are food, microwave, and dishwasher safe but certain sculptural work may be made with high metal glazes that are not considered safe for food
